Simbai Balus Kopi—literally “airplane coffee”—comes from one of the most remote coffee-growing regions in Papua New Guinea. Farmers in Simbai must trek to airstrips to deliver their harvest, which is then flown out to join the global supply chain. Grown in volcanic soil at high elevations, this coffee is produced by over 4,000 smallholders using traditional methods: hand-pulping, fermenting, and sun-drying. The result is a cup that reflects the rugged beauty and resilience of its origin—sweet, earthy, and full-bodied.
